Representative Susan Plasencia

Dear Neighbor,

My name is Susan Plasencia, and I am running for re-election as your State Representative for District 37. I am a business owner, employer, and mom of three children. I am also the daughter of a Cuban immigrant father who fled Communism and a Puertorican mother.

The UCF/East Orange County area has been my home for 25 years. This is where I raised my children, attend church, and am running the family business for 33 years alongside my father. The Central Florida Community means a great deal to me.

Inflation is at a 40-year high, while Insurance is at an all-time high. The result – debt and poverty are on the rise and our standard of living is going down. I have passed tort reform legislation that will lead to real insurance rate decreases for small businesses.

As a mom who raised my children on my own, I know what it’s like to struggle financially. Had it not been for school choice vouchers, my children would have been locked in a school that was failing them in many ways. I worked hard in Tallahassee to spearhead the largest expansion of school choice the state has ever had. Today, I am fighting daily to help an ailing mother get the health care she needs.

These are tough times, but I have learned a lot along the way, which is why I am running. I want to help others pull through these tough times.

As your State Representative, I pledge to continue waking up every day to do my part to strengthen families, our state, and our community. Our community needs a leader who will champion job creation and make decisions that will foster a stronger economy. We need a leader who will support our law enforcement officers and join them in creating safer schools and communities.
